About Victoria

Voices 4 Loved Ones was born from personal experience and a deep commitment to protecting the dignity and well-being of those living in long-term care.

My father lived in a long-term care home in Ottawa, Ontario, until his passing in 2019. I will never forget coming home one day, heartbroken after witnessing families, residents, and even care staff struggling within a system that often felt overwhelmed and broken.

During the pandemic, I made the life-changing decision to move into the healthcare field. What I saw only reinforced what I already knew — families often feel unheard, unsupported, and unsure how to navigate a complex care system while trying to protect the people they love most.

The idea for Voices 4 Loved Ones truly took shape when a close friend reached out with concerns about her father’s care in a memory care unit. After visiting the home with her, observing the situation firsthand, and advocating directly with staff, meaningful changes were made. In that moment, it became clear how powerful informed advocacy could be.

That experience sparked the creation of Voices 4 Loved Ones.

Today, my mission is simple: to stand beside families, help them ask the right questions, navigate complex systems, and advocate for the dignity, safety, and quality of care every person deserves.

Because every resident deserves a voice — and every family deserves support.
