Heartfelt Thank You to Vicki
The first time I met Victoria (Vicki), she was a breath of fresh air. She had just started working at the long-term care home where my husband, David, was a patient. From the very beginning, her smile, enthusiasm, and deep sense of pride in her role as a PSW stood out—something we didn’t see every day.
What impressed me most was her dedication to doing things by the book. She had an exceptional understanding of policies and wasn’t afraid to advocate for proper care. I often saw her professionally and constructively reminding others of their responsibilities, ensuring that no patient was overlooked.
I hired Vicki for extra support, a few hours a week, and those moments of respite were invaluable to me. Without a doubt, she made a meaningful difference in David’s life, bringing compassion, comfort, and dignity to his final year. She played music for him, spoke with him, fed him, and ensured he was always well cared for. Because of Vicki, David lived each day as fully as possible, even as he neared the end of his journey.
When that moment finally came, Vicki was there—not only for David but for me and my family. She held him, comforted us, and helped us find peace in knowing he was finally at rest.
Some people come into your life for a reason, and Vicki became more than just a caregiver—she became family. Her passion, resilience, and heart make her an extraordinary caregiver, especially for those with dementia and Alzheimer’s. She doesn’t just provide care; she loves her patients.
Vicki, we wish you all the happiness and success in your journey. You have a gift, and we have no doubt you will continue to change lives. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for everything you did for David.
With love and gratitude,

Family Testimonial – Memory Care Advocacy Support
Hiring Vickie was the single best decision I made for my father’s dignity.
When I placed my Dad in a private memory care residence, I was sold on a 'sales pitch', the promise that he was in the right place and that I could finally rest. In reality, those two months were more stressful and frustrating than when he lived on his own. Despite the $8,000 monthly cost, my father’s basic hygiene was ignored. I felt completely stonewalled by the residence, told to simply 'accept' the situation and that their team was 'doing their best.'
I didn’t know where to turn, so I began my own 'private investigator' work to prove he was being neglected. It saddens me that I had to go to such lengths, but I am eternally grateful that my search led me to Vickie.
Vickie is a hardcore empath with an innate gift for connection. The most telling moment was her first meeting with my father: within minutes, she knew exactly how to cue him for a brief change without a single fight. It was a stark contrast to the nursing team and PSWs who had been with him for four weeks and claimed they couldn't establish a routine or redirect him. Where they saw a 'difficult' patient, Vickie saw a human being who just needed the right approach.
Beyond her warmth, Vickie is incredibly sharp and well-versed in the Retirement Homes Act (RHRA). She is clearly motivated by a deep-seated need to right the wrongs of the care system and to serve as a powerful voice for our loved ones. She gave me the 'ammunition' I needed by demystifying the residence’s legal obligations. When she joined me for a care conference, she was respectful but firm, voicing clear expectations and finally securing the care plans and daily logs I had been denied for weeks.
Because of Vickie’s advocacy, we saw an immediate improvement in Dad’s care within days. While my father sadly passed away shortly after, I take immense comfort in knowing that his final days were spent in a dignified, clean environment where he was finally being seen and cared for properly.
Vickie is more than a professional; she is a champion for the vulnerable. If you feel unheard and overwhelmed by the care system, you need her in your corner.
